Eeshavasya

For Posting my compositions in Marathi, I was wondering, which one I should try first for posting as a picture. Then I remembered that I had composed Eeshavasya in Abhanga meter. Here it is

Introducing Myself

Hi,

I am S. L. Abhyankar, a mechanical engineer, with specific interest in pumps, valves and all related subjects.

Born on 26th January 1943 in Jamkhandi, an erstwhile Princely State, now in Karnataka, India.

Professionally, I am an engineering consultant in pumps and valves. Also, I am Hon. Technical Adviser with Indian Pump Manufacturers Association since 1986.

My personal interests are in study of philosophy and spirituality. I had learnt by heart all the 700 verses of Geeta. (Using 'had', because sometimes some recitations are not smooth and fluent, if the memory is not kept refreshed and rehearsed.)

Recently I completed the course of five examinations "Panch-Sheela"  based on "Shree Sai Sat-Charita", a composition of biography of Shree Sai Baba of Shirdi. The composition comprises 52 "Adhyaya"s or chapters. And five examinations of "Panch-Sheela" are structured with 10 chapters per examination. I completed the first one securing Third rank, second and third with Second rank and fourth and fifth again with Third rank.

Interestingly, when studying for Panch-Sheela, I developed quite some alacrity in composing summaries of the chapters in 'Abhanga' meter - first line of 6 letters and last line of 4 letters.

Enthused by that alacrity, I also ventured to compose a summary of the biography of Shree Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon, all in just 848 verses or "Abhanga-Pada"s.

Further-on, I have also composed a summary of Mahabharata in just 1663 verses i.e. "Abhanga-Pada"s

I notice that it is possible to add images in these blog posts. I have made WORD files using "Shusha" Devanagari font. Maybe, I can make jpg files of those WORD files and post them here.

I also scribble a lot of my thoughts on topics of my interest. You would find them already posted under "Baba's Blog" at www.rahulshilpa.net

Hope, you will like that too. You are welcome to post comments. Bye for now.
